It is November and All Hallow’s Eve has come and gone, but before you start with all of the December Holidays preparation, don’t pass over the November Holiday that is often overlooked when it comes to movies. Yes, Thanksgiving has it’s share of movies, maybe not completely based on the holiday, but it’s in there.

So, since last year over Thanksgiving I started to compile a list; one of my readers Jenn Anaya had started tweeting about Thanksgiving movies. I haven’t personally watched a ton of these, so I’m going to give you two lists. First, my Thanksgiving movies in alphabetical order and then all of the other thanksgiving movies I have found.

How do you make a feature length film about an event that only lasted for three and a half minutes? The short answer is that you show the event twice and you don’t start the first time until about a third of the way into the film.

The better answer is that you don’t make the movie about those three and a half minutes. You make it a character study of the man who lived through that event.

Seth Rogan and a host of Apatow comedy regulars dip their toes in the CG animated movie world with Sausage Party, an R-rated comedy that does for groceries what Toy Story did for Toys with much more disturbing results.

As expected, the film is infused with raunchy humor and double entendre that often pushes the line between funny and awkward. Throughout this film I often had to remind myself of the comforting fact that it was not a documentary.

Recently, I appeared as a guest on the Geek Up and Go podcast for their June Movie Preview episode, and I did a little excess homework.

We discussed all the big releases, but I took the time to watch all the independent trailers I could as well, so I’ve decided to share my thoughts on a few of them.

Now, I can’t guarantee I’ll be seeing these in the theater, that’s based upon what comes to the independent cinemas near me, but I will be keeping an eye on them for their streaming releases. And you should too.
