Encyclopedia Britannica In Print No More

This week, the news broke that Encyclopedia Britannica will no longer be printing it’s massive volumes of knowledge, instead it will be an online resource. This is big news and a very frightening thing if I may say so, to some much more than others.

Since the 1900’s there have been 6 generations: the Greatest Generation, the Silent Generation, the Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, and the currently named, and most recent generation, Generation Z.

Thanks to a friend, I’ve entered the World of Shannara

The Sword of Shannara Trilogy by Terry Brooks

So, thanks to Jason Zapata Wordsmith’s constant badgering, I finally picked up the book that started it all for him; The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. He’s been telling me for years about the series and I finally broke down and bought it and then I started to read.

The book is great and as I didn’t just purchase one book, I purchased the trilogy as a whole, so I will be reading the rest.

Brand’s Booky Wook 2: Enjoyable, Articulate & Funny

I didn’t read Russell Brand’s first autobiography “My Booky Wook: A Memoir of Sex, Drugs, and Stand-Up” in fact, I only picked up “Booky Wook 2: This Time It’s Personal” because it was on clearance at Barnes & Nobles (how much longer is that store going to be around any way), I enjoy his comedy, and I had watched one of his comedy specials earlier in the week.

Those three factors led me to a very good book. As I said I can’t compare it to his first book, but then again, I don’t need to
