It has been announced that “Captain America 3” will share its pre-planned release date May 6, 2016 with “Batman vs. Superman.” There is also a rumor floating around that the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel could fill that spot instead of “Captain America 3.” Either way, it seems destined that two big Hollywood comic book-based movies could release on the same day.
Declassify >What you should listen to: SModCast the Flagship of S.I.R
SModCast is, as I said in the title, the Flagship of SModCo Internet Radio (S.I.R.) is a must listen. It’s not just for fans of Kevin Smith movies, it’s for all geeks. SModCast usually consists of Kevin Smith and ScottĀ Mosier, although others join in from time to time.
At its core are two geeky friends talking about ridiculous news, hypothetical situations, movies and just about anything else, you’ve ever overheard at a comic store.
Declassify >Field Report: An Infiltration of the Great Allentown Comic Con 2012 | Some things just can’t be replaced.
I recently infiltrated the Great Allentown Comic Con in the city’s Merchants Square Mall. The attendance was not what it had been in the past and there weren’t quite the number of dealers that usually show up, but that can be attributed to the beating this and surrounding areas had taken due to Superstorm Sandy and the Nor’Easter that dumped winter weather in New Jersey.
Attendance aside, the atmosphere was upbeat – how could it not be with a room full of comics!
Declassify >Field Report: Infiltration of the Philly Non-Sports Card Show in Allentown
Recently, I attended the Philly Non-Sports Card Show. I didn’t quite know what to expect. I had been to “CCG” shows, but they’re universally labelled as such. So I headed out, having very little idea of what might be in store for me.
When I arrived there was a line of about 100 people waiting to get in. It wasn’t quite a comic con crowd, but there were some characters, an equal mix of genders and a very wide range of ages.
Now before I explain what I saw at the show, let me explain all I know about Non-Sports Cards.
Declassify >Really? “Very Dead.” Not just “Dead” but “Very Dead”
The coolest opening page to a comic book ever? Maybe not the coolest ever, but definitely very cool. It states “one simple law prevails: if you let your guard down for an instant you will soon be very dead.” Yes, that’s right, very dead, not just dead, but very dead. I find that fascinating.
This comes on the first page of The Warlord #53.
