Ready Player One is an amazing film. It’s fun, it’s filled with pop culture references, and it follows the book as much as a film can. But it’s not the book, which does not surprise me, and you should read the book, and you should also go see the film. What follows in this review is just the old man rant, that I had to get out of my system, and one that is kinda pointless because I did love the film.

Now, I attempted to go into this film with an open mind, which is how you need to view such things as movies based upon books that you love.

Fanboys is a film about Star Wars, and a cross-country road trip to see Star Wars Episode I before anyone else, by breaking into Skywalker Ranch.

It’s about four fanboys and one fangirl, but it’s also about fandom and friendship.

The cast is fantastic; Sam Huntington as Eric Bottler, Chris Marquette as Linus, Dan Fogler as Hutch, Jay Baruchel as Windows, and Kristen Bell as Zoe.

Starring Michael Caine, Noël Coward, and Benny Hill; The Italian Job from 1969 is a comic caper with heart, exuberance, and is a quintessentially British film of its time and for its time, but the stars that truly steal the film away from it’s humanity are the MINI Coopers.

Here’s the breakdown, Charlie Croker (Caine), is getting released from prison. And his friend Roger has a genius plan for a heist, that he’s been working on.

I love Kingsman: The Secret Service a lot. According to the Panel to Screen extra on the Blu-ray, the movie is a “postmodern love letter to spy movies.” Director Matthew Vaughn felt that spy movies have become too serious and no longer fun, and this movie is the result.

Hollywood talent agrees as well. Keep in mind the A-list actors who are in this: Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, and Mark Hamill.
