Destination Wedding is an interesting and superbly written film. Written and directed by Victor Levin, this film is more than the sum of its main title Destination Wedding, but it’s “unofficial title” says a lot more about where it’s at, “Destination Wedding or A Narcissist Can’t Die Because Then the Entire World Would End.”

It stars Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves who are both fantastic, but it’s the script that speaks to me in the most incredible way.

As the year comes to a close we all tend to look back at the year that was. There are recap posts for all manner of things and I considered a good many of them; my most popular posts, my favorite movies, my own self-serving personal accomplishments, remembering those we lost, best television series, top this, best that, it goes on and on. But I’m not doing any of those.

Over the course of 2017 I’ve consumed thousands of hours of podcasts. And for you, dear reader, I have collected some of the more transcendent quotes that hit me somewhere during those many hours.

To those who still don’t understand “podcasting,” I’d like to reference two quotes from a book by Marc Maron named Waiting for the Punch, before I start, which eloquently explain why podcasting is important.

Waiting for the Punch by Marc Maron and Brendan McDonald might be one of the best compilations of stories you’ll ever read. It’s part manifesto, as the introductions that Maron writes in this book are just as insightful and impactful as the stories that are contained in each chapter.

It’s part self-help book, as you can’t help but put each nugget of truth in the context of your own life. And lastly, it’s part historical catalog of the human experience.
